Kabosu, the Shiba Inu who rose to fame as the face of the cryptocurrency Dogecoin, has died at the age of 18. The dog's owner, Atsuko Sato, confirmed Kabosu's passing in Japan. Kabosu's image was popularized as a meme and symbol for Dogecoin in 2013, created by developer Billy Markus. Despite its origins as a joke cryptocurrency, Dogecoin gained attention and even saw support from billionaire Elon Musk for potential use in transactions.
