The Sole Survivor of Severe Poisoning at Baolin, Ms. Huang: Not as Strong as Before, 'Afraid of Southeast Asian Foods'

On June 17, 2024, the Consumer Foundation announced the initiation of a lawsuit by victims of food poisoning from Baolin Tea House. A total of 7 severe cases and 6 deaths were reported from the incident, with 30 victims, including the only survivor of the severe cases, Ms. Huang, feeling weakened after discharge. The incident has raised concerns and initiated legal actions, urging for justice for the victims. Ms. Huang shared her fear of consuming outside food and Southeast Asian cuisine, especially rice cakes, as a result of the incident, calling for stricter checks on businesses and fair investigations for consumers.
