In Changhua, a man surnamed Huang was caught by the police for repeatedly stealing wires at a construction site, stealing a total of NT$670,000 worth of wires and selling them for NT$18,599. Huang, who had worked at the site last year, was familiar with the environment and managed to steal the wires by peeling them, discarding the plastic cover, and selling the copper wire for profit. He was eventually apprehended by the police after surveillance footage identified him and was charged under waste disposal and theft laws. The police emphasized the importance of having adequate surveillance systems in place at construction sites to prevent theft.
