A toxic gas leak was reported at the Taoyuan CPC Corporation oil refinery with a worker suspected of inhaling hydrogen sulfide gas while working on pipelines. The worker was found without vital signs and is currently being treated in the hospital. The leak was contained within the factory premises, and environmental authorities are monitoring the situation. Emergency services including multiple fire trucks responded to the incident, emphasizing that it was a toxic gas leak rather than a fire. Occupational Safety and Health Administration officials were also present. Another worker is also receiving treatment for discomfort. The incident occurred during pipeline maintenance works by a subcontractor when a breathing mask malfunctioned, allowing the gas exposure to happen.
