Toyota's Gazoo Racing division president, Tomoya Takahashi, stated that the team will continue to build gas-powered performance cars for as long as possible, showing little interest in developing an all-electric vehicle soon. While hybrid technology and synthetic carbon-neutral fuels are being considered to reduce emissions, the focus remains on internal combustion engines. This stance may disappoint those hoping for an electric Toyota sports car like the FT-Se concept, but it leaves the possibility open for gas-powered successors like the rumored LFA replacement.
