As more Taiwanese travel to Dubai for short business trips and vacations, there have been cases of individuals inadvertently entering prohibited areas or violating local alcohol regulations, leading to arrests by Dubai police and eventual deportation. The Taiwanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs reminds that in Dubai, one must be at least 21 years old to drink alcohol, and consuming alcohol in public places or establishments without liquor licenses is strictly forbidden. The Ministry advises Taiwanese to respect local laws and customs while abroad to avoid legal troubles, and provides emergency contact information for assistance in case of emergencies overseas.
