Recent rumors suggest that Taiwan's current ambassador to Japan, Shen Lyu-shun, may step down within the year, with two potential successors named: Chiu Yi-jen and Yeh Chu-lan. Media analyst Fan Chi-ming raises concerns over whether other factions would accept Chiu Yi-jen due to his association with the New Tide faction. The key factor in the selection of a new ambassador to Japan seems to hinge on President Tsai Ing-wen's attitude, according to Fan Chi-ming. Yeh Chu-lan, another candidate, is seen as an elder figure within the Democratic Progressive Party and part of the Shen faction, highlighting possible tensions within the party over diplomatic appointments.
