Two men surnamed Yan and Zhang in Taichung were arrested for violating the Personal Information Protection Act. Utilizing the 'Little White Machine' system, they possessed personal data of over 17 million individuals nationwide, selling one piece of information for NT$500 each, generating over NT$50,000 in profits. Yan, a 38-year-old computer repairman, and Zhang, a 22-year-old unemployed individual, were found to have potentially leaked data from a public sector breach over a decade ago. Zhang created the 'National Personal Data Search Engine' on Telegram, advertising the sale of personal data, earning over NT$50,000 by selling dozens of data entries. Both men admitted to the crime during questioning.
