On June 23, 2024, The Young Daily reported that Russian military bases in Crimea have been facing frequent attacks from Ukrainian forces. As a result, Russian warships started launching missiles from the Azov Sea on the evening of June 21 to avoid retaliation. The Ukrainian Navy spokesperson emphasized that this shift signifies Russia's loss of secure control over the Black Sea. Despite the Russian military's move to the Azov Sea to reduce risks, Ukraine managed to intercept 12 out of 16 missiles, demonstrating their monitoring capabilities. The ongoing airstrikes by Russian forces have caused casualties, with at least 3 dead and 52 injured in Ukraine's second largest city Kharkiv. Ukrainian President Zelensky condemned the deliberate targeting of cities and residential areas by Russian forces as planned terror acts, while Ukrainian troops continue to defend and counter Russian missile and drone attacks.
