Following power outages in Banqiao and Xinpu areas in New Taipei City, two districts in Kaohsiung also experienced sudden blackouts affecting a total of 826 households. Taiwan Power Company's Kaohsiung division dispatched personnel for emergency repairs upon receiving reports, citing reasons for the outages in both areas and expressing apologies for the inconvenience caused to residents. The outage in Qianjin District in Kaohsiung City affected 720 households, with repairs completed by approximately 9:01 PM. Initial investigations revealed the outage was due to a fault in underground cable joints. In addition to Qianjin District, a separate outage was reported at 7:40 PM in Zuoying District, affecting 156 households. The cause was identified as a faulty kiosk-style transformer (167kVA), with power fully restored by 10:57 PM.
