In June 16, 2024, a single township head in Kaohsiung pursued an unmarried woman persistently, calling her repeatedly and asking her to add him on Line, causing the woman distress and making her take detours to avoid him. She accused the township head of violating the Harassment Act. The Kaohsiung District Court sentenced the township head to 30 days in jail for ignoring the woman's wishes and causing her mental stress. The township head claimed innocence and plans to appeal the decision. The incident serves as a reminder to respect personal boundaries and speak out against harassment.
