A 60-year-old man surnamed Liao from Wuri District, Taichung City, went missing on June 20th and was later discovered trapped in a drainage ditch about 100 meters away from his home on June 25th. Firefighters had to use various equipment to dig through the road and rescue him due to the narrow pipe in the ditch. Liao, who suffered multiple abrasions but remained conscious, was taken to the hospital for treatment. The reason for his entrapment is still under investigation.
