According to the Youth Daily on June 30, 2024, the US Central Command has collaborated with the Pentagon's Chief Digital Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) to integrate advanced sensors for anti-drone systems amid increasing drone attacks in the Middle East. The integration aims to strengthen the response to drone threats, with verification of effectiveness set for October through a series of exercises. The partnership seeks to provide clear threat information to drone operators and related units, enhancing their ability to counter drone threats by utilizing different sensor capabilities. The initiative is part of the Central Command's innovation program, with Colonel Searcy mentioning plans to integrate the selected sensor systems with drones by October to test the new concept. The report also highlights the Central Command's innovation team observing US drone operators in the Middle East since March to understand their challenges. By integrating drones with sensor systems, the US military aims to improve its ability to counter potential threats. The CDAO, established in 2022, focuses on utilizing AI and digital capabilities to address future crises and challenges, with the creation of Task Force Lima last year assessing the capability of generative AI. The US Central Command plans to enhance its anti-drone capabilities through sensor integration with drone systems.
