US chipmaker onsemi is planning a multi-year investment of up to $2 billion in its production facility in the Czech Republic, specifically in the eastern town of Roznov pod Radhostem. This investment marks the largest foreign investment in the country since 1993 and is expected to significantly increase chip production and create around 3,000 jobs in the region. The company aims to strengthen its semiconductor supply chain for its European and global customers, focusing on intelligent power semiconductors for applications in electric vehicles, renewable energy, and AI data centers.
