US Fuel Supplier Expands Domestic Uranium Enrichment amid Nuclear Power Push

Reported 2 days ago

Centrus Energy has announced a $60 million expansion of its uranium enrichment operations in Tennessee to support the U.S. growth of nuclear power as a clean energy source. As the country seeks to reduce reliance on foreign uranium suppliers, particularly Russia, Centrus plans to manufacture advanced centrifuges at its Oak Ridge facility for its enrichment site in Piketon, Ohio. This initiative is part of the Biden administration's goal to triple nuclear capacity by 2050, which could lead to substantial job growth in the region.
