The US government is exploring the possibility of imposing export controls on AI chips to certain countries, potentially capping export licenses for companies like Nvidia and AMD. This follows existing restrictions on shipments to over 40 nations. Concurrently, Wolfspeed, a major EV chip manufacturer, has been awarded $750 million from the US CHIPS Act to aid in its factory expansion in North Carolina and New York.
