The Federal Trade Commission filed a complaint in San Jose, California, federal court against Adobe, alleging that the company concealed termination fees in its subscription plans, making it challenging for consumers to cancel. The FTC accused Adobe of burying important terms in fine print and creating obstacles for subscribers attempting to cancel, such as being disconnected when canceling by phone or facing resistance and delays. Adobe executives David Wadhwani and Maninder Sawhney are also named as defendants in the lawsuit. The FTC seeks civil penalties, injunctions against wrongdoing, and other remedies for violating federal laws.
