During an interview with US media in Washington D.C., Minister of Economic Affairs Guo Zhijie was asked whether nuclear power would be restarted in Taiwan to support the development of the technology industry. He responded that currently, Taiwan has a law that makes it temporarily not feasible to do so. When asked about the impact of the 'Punishing Taiwan Independence Act' on Taiwanese investment, Guo stated that it should not have a significant effect. Guo led a delegation of SMEs and Taiwanese supply chain to participate in the 'Select USA Investment Summit' and discussed issues such as nuclear power restart, the Punishing Taiwan Independence Act, and the purpose of the trip during a media interview.
