A U.S. bankruptcy judge has halted The Onion's attempt to acquire Alex Jones' Infowars, citing that the auction process did not yield the best offers. Judge Christopher Lopez ruled that the bankruptcy trustee made a 'good-faith error' in the auction's rapid closing, stating there was potential for higher bids. Neither the Onion's nor an affiliated company's offers sufficiently covered Jones' extensive debts. The Onion had aimed to transform Infowars into a parody site, but now awaits further proceedings in the bankruptcy case.
