A U.S. judge in Seattle rejected Amazon's request to dismiss an FTC lawsuit accusing the company of enrolling consumers into its paid Amazon Prime service without consent. The lawsuit alleges deceptive practices by Amazon, including making it difficult to cancel memberships and using manipulative website designs. The FTC lawsuit seeks civil penalties and a permanent injunction. Another antitrust lawsuit against Amazon is also pending in the same court, set for trial in October 2026.
