A group of US lawmakers, as reported by the Wall Street Journal, urged the immediate addition of Chinese battery companies CATL and Gotion High Tech to an import ban list over alleged ties to forced labor in their supply chains, particularly related to the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act. Gotion denied the allegations, emphasizing their partner selection processes, while the list aims to restrict goods from regions associated with minority genocide in China. Ford, Volkswagen, and CATL have not yet responded to requests for comments.
