Ventures Platform, a leading early-stage investor in Africa, has successfully raised $64 million for its second fund, aiming for a total of $75 million. Notably, this fund includes investment from the Nigerian government, marking its first venture into supporting VC funds. Over its history, Ventures Platform has funded more than 90 startups, primarily focusing on 'painkiller' businesses in fintech, health tech, and other sectors. As it continues to expand its influence, particularly in Nigeria and Francophone West Africa, the firm aims to enhance access to Series A funding amid a tightening investment climate.
