On October 7, 2023, Hamas, a Palestinian militant group, launched a large-scale attack on Israel causing numerous casualties. Over 100 victims and families have sued Iran, Syria, and North Korea for at least $4 billion, accusing the three countries of supporting Hamas. The lawsuit, filed in Washington D.C., seeks compensatory and punitive damages totaling $10 billion and $30 billion respectively. The plaintiffs claim that these countries provided financial, military, and tactical support to Hamas. The Anti-Defamation League, representing the plaintiffs, asserts that Iran, Syria, and North Korea are major supporters of anti-Semitic terrorism and must be held accountable. The defendants' representatives at the United Nations have not responded to the lawsuit.
