A well-known century-old shop in Zhanghua, Yuzhen Zhai, located at the entrance of the Lukang Temple, was hit by a minivan for unknown reasons, injuring two individuals including the driver and customers inside the shop. The impact caused damages estimated over a million to the business, prompting the owners to quickly repair the storefront in hopes of resuming operations by tomorrow. The incident left the shop in chaos with shattered glass doors and scattered goods, as investigations continue to determine the cause of the crash involving the 61-year-old driver. Witnesses described the minivan unexpectedly accelerating into the shop, potentially mistaking the gas pedal for the brake. Both the driver and the affected 56-year-old man sustained minor injuries and are expected to recover.
