Water-cooled fans suspected to be made in mainland China, pastor says 'money is neutral,' internet sarcastically comments: a philosophical issue?

Reported 11 months ago

On June 23, 2024, at 9:00 pm, Huang Yansheng, a journalist from Chung T'ien News, reported that on the 21st, the Legislative Yuan voted on the reform of the National Assembly, and green camp civic groups called for the Bluebird Action to return to the Legislative Yuan. As summer approached, multiple water-cooled fans were set up inside, but were found to be manufactured in mainland China, sparking public criticism. A pastor even remarked that 'just like money or land, what is produced from them is neutral, it depends on whether the user utilizes them for good or evil'. Due to the water-cooled fan's origin being exposed as 'made in mainland China,' netizens questioned the use of products from across the strait despite anti-China sentiments, leading to a debate about neutrality. The Bluebird Action received sponsorship for nearly 50 water-cooled fans to prevent heat strokes amid their return to the Legislative Yuan.
