Executive Yuan spokesperson Chen Shih-kai expressed deep regret like most Taiwanese and stated that they will apply for constitutional interpretation. Despite knowing the likely outcome, the Executive Yuan proposed reconsideration with the anticipation of dialogue between parties in the Legislative Yuan on the content of the bill, but this objective was not achieved. Chen emphasized the necessity of addressing flawed procedures and constitutional disputes arising from this legislative amendment, which has faced criticism from legal scholars. The Executive Yuan aims to enhance public understanding of the government system and communication with the people through this process, despite feeling disappointed with the outcome.
