On June 24, 2024, at 3:17 AM, according to TVBS News online, a 43-year-old woman went mountain climbing with friends over the weekend as temperatures soared over 40 degrees Celsius across Taiwan. Without shelter, she lost a large amount of body fluids, became disoriented, and collapsed. Upon arrival at the emergency room, her body temperature reached 40.9 degrees, leading to a critical condition. After emergency treatment, she is currently under observation in the ICU. Additionally, a man in his 70s collapsed from heat exhaustion while riding his bicycle to collect recyclables under the scorching sun.
