In the wee hours, a woman was caught by the police at her doorstep after they received reports of a blackmail case following an investigation tracing the IP source. The woman was found to have threatened McDonald's by demanding 300,000 RMB to be transferred to a designated account by noon on March 11th, and claiming that she would randomly poison meals at different stores if the police were alerted. The 49-year-old suspect, who has had a prestigious education and worked in public sectors, was motivated by financial difficulties. She has now been prosecuted for the crime.
