A woman named Chen in Wenzhou, China, recently set someone's car on fire while celebrating buying a new car by lighting firecrackers. After feeling that the new car lacked festive cheer, Chen lit firecrackers near a roadside parking area, inadvertently starting a fire beside a tree and causing damage to another parked car. Despite trying to put out the fire, the innocent sacrificial car was severely damaged. Chen expressed willingness to compensate the car owner, but it's unclear if she will cover repair costs or provide an entire new car. The incident sparked criticism among Chinese netizens against the outdated tradition of celebrating buying a car with firecrackers.
