A dispute over a priority seat on the Taipei Metro resulted in a bloody conflict between two elderly individuals and a female office worker named Lin. The incident left Lin emotionally distressed, causing her to hit a pillar at the station multiple times and bleed profusely, ultimately leading to a physical altercation. Following the ordeal, Lin expressed fear and difficulty breathing whenever she boards the metro, even when there are empty priority seats available, as she feels intimidated. Despite the elderly party indicating a temporary reluctance to press charges, they later visited the hospital for injuries sustained and proceeded to file a lawsuit against Lin, who was accompanied by friends in providing a statement the next day. Additional calls for evidence were made, emphasizing the need for a fair examination of the event. Lin, who received six stitches in the emergency room after self-harming, recounted feeling pressured to apologize and ultimately crashing into a wall due to despair after complying. She also mentioned being verbally attacked and provoked by the elderly individual. Lin's friend later disclosed on Dcard that there were insufficient physical proofs on hand to substantiate potential harm to Lin, urging people who recorded the incident that night to present their evidence voluntarily. Lin stated that watching the CCTV footage of the metro showed Ah Bei initiating physical violence against her and implied that a friendly approach from the opposite party would have resulted in her giving up her seat willingly. She described the escalating confrontation, explaining how a woman began yelling in English before Ah Bei joined in and a scuffle ensued, ultimately leading to the physical altercation. Despite recovering emotionally, Lin expressed ongoing fears and breathing difficulties while riding the metro and refrains from sitting in priority seats as a result of the traumatic incident.
