On June 16, 2024, in Hunei, after receiving a report that a female family member was suspected of being swept away by surging river waters, the local police immediately contacted the fire department and initiated a search operation. The missing woman, aged around 68, was known to inspect agricultural land daily, passing by a stream beneath Ping'an Road in Tianliao. Family members found her rain shoes and some crops near the stream and reported to the authorities. With the recent heavy rain causing water levels to rise, the joint search operation by police and firefighters continues vigilantly for the missing woman, urging caution near rivers during adverse weather conditions.
