A report by Alpha Plus, a DEI consulting company, reveals that only 9% of companies in Taiwan have specific friendly measures or policies surpassing regulations regarding LGBT+ diversity, indicating that a whopping 91% lack action in this area. Despite 70% public support for same-sex marriage, the workplace environment in Taiwan remains conservative, hindering LGBT+ talents from feeling secure and comfortable at work. Recommendations for companies to establish a more inclusive workplace include incorporating anti-discrimination policies, conducting education and training on gender diversity, and creating internal support systems for LGBT+ individuals.
