A group aiming to recall Keelung Mayor Xie Guoliang called 'Mountain Sea Civic Dismantling Action' submitted 43,000 petition signatures to the Keelung City Election Commission for review. Former Central Broadcasting System Chairman Zhao Shaokang led members of the 'Combat Blue' to Keelung to counteract the recall action. In response to Nationalist Party (KMT) legislator Xu Qiaoxin's remark about Zhou Yukou potentially becoming the next Mayor if Xie was recalled, Zhou posted on Facebook asserting 'Keelung people love Keelung people! I am a Keelung person, I love Keelung, and Keelung loves me.' She criticized a fraudulent group causing trouble in Keelung and urged Mayor Xie to act responsibly to combat fraud. Xu Qiaoxin, along with other KMT members, were present during the anti-recall campaign in Keelung.
