Zimbabwe has initiated reparations to nations and farmers whose lands were confiscated in the 2000s, marking a significant move towards restructuring its $21 billion debt. Recent payments have been made to several countries, including Denmark and Germany, for 94 farms, as part of a commitment to financial recovery. The government has set aside $20 million for these initial payments and plans to allocate funds until 2028 to address the remaining debts. This effort is seen as pivotal in regaining access to international capital markets.
