Ruifang police received a report from a victim of a scam account head who was violently beaten and detained by a fraud gang in a hotel in Zhongshan District, Taipei. The police traced and uncovered the illegal gang who used people's accounts as head accounts and detained them in hotels until the accounts were flagged by the police. The main suspects, Wu and Jiang, formed a fraud collection group that operated in Taipei and New Taipei City, making profits by providing accounts to other fraud groups. The gang was finally dismantled on June 12, 113 since originating more than a year ago, resulting in the arrest of Jiang and Wu, among others, for defrauding 32 victims of over 140 million yuan. Ruifang police chief Chen Jianlong warned job seekers of common scams that promise high salaries and no experience, advising them to be cautious and avoid falling into traps, especially during the upcoming summer job season.
