27 Years Managing Police Cemetery, Chen Jingjun: Blessed by the Authorities in the Dark

Reported about 1 year ago

Reporter Li Longkui/Taipei Report June 10, 2024, 6:06 PM Chen Jingjun believes that he regards the 'authorities' as his family taking care of him, and they will bless him. At 63 years old, Chen Jingjun, who has been working as a police cemetery administrator for twenty-seven years, shared many inexplicable events. He once spontaneously picked up bones and later won the lottery with the tombstone number, survived a life-threatening fall from the bone-receiving tower, and miraculously recovered. Reflecting on the past where the police cemetery was once barren, causing security concerns but transformed into a green beautified park, Chen felt deeply touched. In December 1993, near the police cemetery, an abandoned house witnessed a homeless man, Cao A-Ming, rape and murder a girl, prompting a review of the security situation around the cemetery. With most people avoiding the job due to superstitions, Chen, a former Marine Corps soldier, eventually became the cemetery administrator through a recommendation. He expressed acceptance of the role due to his simple and unrestricted nature, and highlighted the sense of freedom and simplicity in the job. Chen shared the incidents involving miracles and expressed gratitude for the transformed police cemetery, which now even hosts fireflies at night.
