Taiwanese men's singles player Lee Chia-hao secured his first international victory against fellow Taiwanese player Chou Tien-chen in the quarterfinals of the Australian Badminton Open, advancing to the semifinals. Lee Chia-hao, ranked 37th in the world, previously defeated local player Edward Lau in the first round and Indonesia's Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo in the Round of 16. He will now face Malaysia's Lee Zii Jia in the next stage. In men's doubles, Taiwan's Chen Tzu-jui and Lin Yu-chieh advanced to the semifinals by defeating Malaysia's Yeoh Seng Zoe and Arif Latif.
