Chinese exports of new energy vehicles to Brazil have surpassed Belgium, becoming the top export market, according to industry data. In April, exports of electric and plug-in hybrid cars to Brazil increased significantly, prompting Chinese automakers to increase investments in local production in Brazil. The shift in focus to Brazil comes amid the European Union's anti-subsidy probe into Chinese electric vehicles, which has disrupted exports to European markets. Russia remains the largest export market for Chinese cars, while other European countries have seen declines in imports of China-made electric vehicles.
