According to CTi News, on June 24, 2024, at 10:07 PM, a serious rear-end collision occurred at 33.7 kilometers northbound on National Freeway No. 1, with a black sedan suspected to have not paid attention to the road ahead and crashing into 2 high-profile construction vehicles. The sedan's front was completely destroyed, and the construction vehicle that was rear-ended was pushed into another construction vehicle ahead, resulting in a 3-car collision. The 4 occupants in the sedan were injured, with the driver briefly trapped inside. New Taipei Fire Department dispatched 10 vehicles and 17 personnel, using tools to dismantle the car body to rescue the driver. The injured were taken to Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for treatment. The authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident.
