On the morning of July 8, 2024, Lin Shijie, the father of DPP Tainan City Councilor Lin Yiting and Director of the Tainan District Fishermen's Association, was shot and killed. Tainan City Police have requested a forensic examination, preliminarily determining that gunshot wounds to the neck and chest cavity were fatal injuries. The Tainan District Fishermen's Association Director Lin Shijie was shot dead early this morning. The Tainan Prosecutor's Office has formed a task force to actively investigate the case, with evidence gathering revealing 11 casings at the scene. Upon forensic examination, the deceased had gunshot wounds in the neck, chest cavity, shoulder, and arm. Further examinations will be conducted to confirm the exact circumstances of the shooting and the cause of death.
