A fire broke out at an ink factory in the Quan Valley Industrial Park in Hwaseong City, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea on July 5, 2024, at around 7:15 am. Three workers were urgently evacuated as firefighters worked to extinguish the flames. The factory stored hazardous chemicals like ethyl acetate and methyl ethyl ketone, with no significant casualties expected. This incident comes shortly after a major fire at the ARICELL battery manufacturing plant in the same industrial park led to 23 deaths. The two locations are only a little over 500 meters apart.
