According to SET News, on the morning of June 30, 2024, at 7:20 a.m., there were reports of a person drowning near the Hua Jiang Bridge connecting Wanhua District in Taipei to Banqiao District in New Taipei City. Witnesses stated that a person was seen swimming from the Wanhua Bank towards the New Taipei City Bank but appeared to become exhausted and sank into the water. Despite ongoing search efforts, the individual has not been located as of 1:00 p.m., and investigations are underway to determine the person's identity.
