In an exclusive report on July 2, 2024, Taipei City saw a decrease in deaths with cancer, heart disease, and pneumonia as the top 3 causes of death, while COVID-19 dropped to 5th place. The total number of deaths decreased by 492 individuals mainly due to a reduction of 585 deaths from COVID-19. The article also highlights that 82.2% of deaths were individuals aged 65 and above, with cancer accounting for 25.9% of total deaths in the city.
