(CATL), the world's leading electric vehicle battery manufacturer, has suspended operations at its Jianxiawo lithium mine in Jiangxi province for at least three months. This decision follows the expiration of a key mining permit on August 9, which CATL is trying to renew while contending with increased scrutiny from Beijing and volatility in the lithium market. The halt is expected to ease pressures from an oversupplied industry, even as CATL faces challenges amid declining revenue from its battery mineral resources.
