In preparation for the Kuomintang leadership, Taichung Mayor Lu Xiu-yan visited New Taipei City Mayor Hou You-yi on the 28th and will meet with former Legislative Yuan President Wang Jin-ping on July 5th. Speculation arises as Lu is frequently named a potential 2028 presidential candidate and with the upcoming party leader elections. Lu's meetings have sparked interest in her potential party leader candidacy, but Lu's team remains conservative in their approach, still undecided on the matter.
