Challenging Tsai's Resignation, Lin Cho-shui Asserts the Final Outcome of the Legislative Yuan's Five Laws Amendment on Constitutional Interpretation

Reported about 1 year ago

On June 8, 2024, at 1:00 AM, Editor-in-chief Chen Xiuzhi reported that the Executive Yuan decided to refer the Legislative Yuan's amendment of the five laws to deliberation on the 6th and provided 7 reasons why the provisions were difficult to implement. Lin Cho-shui, former DPP legislator, asserted that if the review is unsuccessful, the next challenge for Premier Tsai is constitutional interpretation, affirming that the legislature's investigative powers and contempt of parliament offenses will pass constitutional scrutiny in the end. Lin also commented on the potential outcomes if the review fails, saying that Tsai's next challenge is not a cabinet reshuffle as neither the KMT nor the DPP have the courage to propose one, but rather when constitutional interpretation will be necessary.
