China Initiates Antitrust Probe Against Google in Response to Trump Tariffs

Reported 1 day ago

In retaliation to a 10% tariff imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump on Chinese goods, China has launched an antitrust investigation into Google for alleged monopolistic practices. This investigation by the State Administration for Market Regulation targets the tech giant, which has faced restrictions in China since 2010 but still operates there primarily in advertising. Alongside this, China introduced additional tariffs on U.S. coal and liquefied natural gas, further escalating trade tensions between the two nations.
