During a seminar at the National Defense University, top advisor on China policy to former US Secretary of State Pompeo, Yu Maochun, suggested that Taiwan must internationalize and cooperate with allied countries in response to recent conflicts with Chinese coast guard in neighboring waters. Yu emphasized the importance of Taiwan working with surrounding nations like South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, and India to counter China's aggressive maritime tactics, highlighting the effectiveness of collective action against China as demonstrated in previous incidents. He also urged Taiwan to avoid overreliance on the US, stressing the need for independent stances and partnerships with neighboring allies.
