Delivery Workers Unhappy with High Platform Commission Rates, Struggle to Make Minimum Hourly Wage as Monthly Earnings of 100,000 NTD Becomes a Legend

Reported about 1 year ago

The rise of delivery platforms in recent years has provided many with a flexible and no-experience-required job option, with some achieving impressive monthly earnings of over 100,000 NTD. However, as platform commission rates increase, delivery workers see a substantial decrease in income, sometimes earning less than the minimum hourly wage. This has led to a continuous decline in the number of full-time delivery workers. The situation is exacerbated by drastic cuts in delivery fees, resulting in a near three-quarters reduction in overall income. Delivery workers are finding it increasingly difficult to reach the 100,000 NTD monthly earnings mark, and many are taking on part-time jobs in addition to delivery work.
