For the past three years, the author's mother has been their childcare provider, but they have different rules for the kids, leading to tension and confusion. While the author appreciates her mother's care for the kids, their differing parenting styles and rules have caused disagreements and challenges, such as different rules about wearing shoes outside and allowing wrestling. Despite the conflicts, the author acknowledges the positives of having their mother as the childcare provider and looks forward to transitioning back to a regular grandparent-grandchild relationship.
